The window lets in light.
Your docile body stays inside to work.
Wild thoughts escape over the trees,
beyond the horizon, to the places only
imagination knows. Let them go.
Allow your curiosity
(how dutifully it stayed behind!)
to catch a snowflake, tap dance
to rain on the pane, or roll
in the grass beneath you.
Night comes on,
and the window lets out light
to lead all parts of you back
to warmth, safety, home…
until tomorrow.
