lipstick & laundry

some days are lipstick,
enough time to blow dry,
and makeup not done in the car
some days are laundry
that sits on the couch
‘cause the walk to the closet’s too far
some days are lipstick,
impractical shoes,
and they’re playing your favorite song
some days are laundry
you have to wash twice
‘cause it sat in the washer so long
some days are both
and then neither is perfect,
there’s not enough time, enough YOU
lipstick and laundry
and everything always
and having it all
like we do
