The way a painting rises up from the depths that created it, emerging from the complication of human compulsion, distraction, fantasy, desire and irrelevancy within us, breaking mysteriously and inevitably into life, reminds me of the waves pulling away from the dark blue depths of the ocean to break with a thunderclap or a ripple upon the shore.
